Little Art Museums of Yachats on Display
Yachats is bursting with creativity, thanks to the many talented local artists who call this coastal gem home. To spotlight their work in a fresh and accessible way, the nonprofit Polly Plumb Productions—with support from the Oregon Community Foundation—has launched the Little Art Museums of Yachats.
The concept? Turn beloved local businesses into pop-up galleries, displaying one-of-a-kind works to be enjoyed by visitors and community members alike. Overleaf Lodge & Spa is now showcasing the work of three incredible artists for a full year.
Curious who they are? Well, wonder no more!
David Baldwin
A former professional baseball player, David Baldwin has been living in Yachats since 2004. He likes to explore the effects of form and color, creating vivid and bold abstract designs that harken back to his early days of learning scientific illustration. He says he feels joy while creating and hopes that others feel the same when they see it.
Victoria Kwasinski
Yachats resident Victoria Kwasinski has her own studio and gallery called Le Stelle. She mixes oils with cold beeswax in her nature-inspired paintings, creating layers and texture. She thinks Before moving here, she often stayed next door as a guest at our sister property, The Fireside Motel!
Debbie Aken
Debbie Aken, a former art educator, settled in Yachats with her husband in 2015 to enjoy a creative and inspiring retirement. She works within several art mediums, including printmaking and mixed media montages. She also enjoys painting and pottery. When creating, she is especially drawn to nature and trees, focusing on their negative, or empty, space. She hopes to evoke a sense of wonder when people view her work.
Other Artists’ Work To Admire: Andy Nichols and Bob Meyer
Also, inside our lobby is Andy Nichols’ beautiful glass artwork, including his artistic interpretation of Oregon’s coastal fish on their spawning journey.
