• Cleanse your mind at Overleaf Spa. Get your creative retreat off to a great start by allowing your mind to fully release any stresses or creative blocks. Submerge in our warm water soaking tubs that overlook the ocean and let go of distractions. Try the sauna or steam room! Or schedule a full treatment, such as one of our signature massages or facials. You’ll emerge restored, with your mind reset and ready to focus.
• Breathe in the ocean air. Lucky to stand adjacent to the 804 Trail, Overleaf Lodge is a great jump-off point for thinkers to think on foot. Head north on the trail to reach an open stretch of beach. All that open space and fresh ocean air is sure to get your thoughts flowing.
• View the work of local artists. Yachats is full of creative people who produce amazing artwork, sometimes painting the ocean en plein air right on our bluffs! Here to paint or sketch? Perhaps local artwork will inspire you. As part of Polly Plumb Productions’ Little Art Museums of Yachats, Overleaf Lodge is showcasing the work of three artists for a full year: David Baldwin, Victoria Kwasinski and Debbie Aken. The glasswork of Andy Nichols is truly inspiring in our lobby! And there are several galleries in Yachats open for visitors.
• Pick your favorite beverage to get you going. Whether you prefer coffee or wine, Yachats has it all. When you head out for that perfect cup of coffee, don’t forget your notebook or journal to jot down your ideas! When inspiration comes you have to be ready! Yachats is also home to Wildcraft Cider & Pantry, makers of delicious hard ciders that you can sip while seated outdoors to do some sketching. For wine, you won’t have to go far: Overleaf Lodge’s Wine Cove has an amazing selection of wines produced by local makers, and we sell logo glasses, too! Sit in our lobby and savor the wine as your ideas percolate.
• Forest bathe in a place for reflection. Overleaf Lodge & Spa is nestled within a beautiful stand of coastal fir trees. Guests may walk around the grounds to take in the sights and sounds as they ponder their creative projects. Find even more solitude along the Amanda Trail, a memorial to the forced relocation of Native Americans to the Siletz Reservation. Reflect. Remember.
• Read or puzzle. If you forgot a book, the Overleaf Library, located on the second floor, is a great place for quiet time (if the room isn’t reserved otherwise).
