Local Holiday Events:
The Village in Yachats is always lit up this time of year and offers a month-long series of holiday music, food and cultural events. But first thing’s first: while their official 2015 holiday calendar has yet to be posted by the Chamber, you can be sure to find a delicious Thanksgiving meal at participating local restaurants, including, Drift Inn Historic Cafe & Pub, Ona Restaurant & Lounge and Adobe Resort Restaurant.
After enjoying your tasty turkey dinner, finish out the week by attending one of our unique holiday events! The Wine Place and Noble Estate Winery will be open for tastings all weekend. Peruse the local galleries at the ninth annual GreenHouse MarketPlace Galleries Open House from 10am to 5pm, Friday through Sunday (Nov 27-29). The featured galleries include Earthworks, Touchstone and Wave, and are all located at the north edge of town.
Feeling historically inclined? Stop by the Little Log Church to brush up on your Yachats cultural history and traditions by way of interesting photos and knowledgeable volunteers.
Finally, get ahead on your Christmas shopping while supporting our local businesses! From 8am to 8pm on Saturday, Nov 28, check out the Yachats Merchants Holiday Open House. Because Small Business Saturday is all about celebrating Main Street. Businesses across Yachats are hosting this holiday open house and shopkeepers have a variety of fun activities planned. Throughout the day at designated stores, you’ll find entertainment, activities, food, and wine tastings. Shoppers can take advantage of discounts, specials, giveaways and the fifth annual “Yachats Shoppers’ Holiday Raffle.”
Want to give back to the local community? There will also be drop-off points for Yachats Food Bank donations and a community toy drive.
Local Outdoor Holiday Activities:
The good news is that even when the weather in Oregon isn’t the greatest, the coastline is always beautiful. Cloudy weather brings in a more cozy vibe, perfect for hot chocolate and a book or a game of cards by the fireplace in your room at Overleaf Lodge as you watch the waves roll into the shore. If you do want to get outside, be sure to bring a rain jacket, and head to Cape Perpetua and Devil’s Churn for an easy outing that rewards you with breathtaking views.
Whether you’re looking to celebrate, explore, relax (or all of the above), spending Thanksgiving in Yachats, Oregon is the perfect way to ring in the holiday season. Book your room and/or make a group reservation at Overleaf Lodge today! We look forward to celebrating with you.
