The lighthouse is located approximately 14 miles South of Yachats at Devil’s Elbow State Park, which is a popular beach and picnic area. Heceta Head Lighthouse is purported to be one of the most photographed lighthouses in America, and one understands why when taking in the view of the Lighthouse from the headland just South of the Heceta Head. A trail leads to the Heceta Head Lighthouse and the Queen Anne style keeper’s house. Rocks offshore and headlands provide numerous seabird-nesting sites. For birders this is a great place for viewing, so bring binoculars. The views from the lighthouse are outstanding.
